"What Filipino looks like: Traditions and Beliefs"

"What Filipino looks like: Traditions and Beliefs"

Filipinos are well-known for their unique culture and traditions. It is abundant of resources and beliefs. It is visible to the world. There are stories that I've read and it had the customs of the Filipino culture. Here are some of my views...
In the Story of "World is an Apple", we can reflect to the beliefs of the Filipinos that in community, most of the poor believe that rich people are more powerful than them.In the story, Mario was fired because he stole an apple. As I read and reflect to the story, I knew that it was not the stealing of apple that made the firing out of Mario. The company didn't like Mario in the first place because Mario had past record of crimes.
Even though it was long ago and Mario changed his way of living, the company never trusted him. That is why, the only way to fire Mario was to get him caught red handed. Mario can't complain of fight back because he knows that hes poor. And the result of firing him was the desparate looking of job even it takes his dignity again.

In the story of "New Yorker in Tondo", It reflects some of our OFW and those who have critical ambitions Just like Kikay who stayed at New York just for a short time, we Filipinos have the nature of imitating the customs and traditions of the other countries.

In the story of "Three Rats", we can reflect on the husband-wife relationship. It was the tempted by adultery. We can reflect that some Filipinos, like Gonzalo, would do revenge to win their wife back. And dispoding of the temptation is one of the best solution

In the story of "Sabina", we can see that Filipinos have religious aspect. In the story, the family were praying for Sabina. We can also see that elders tend to give good advices to the young ones. It is one of the Filipino culture of respecting elders for their words of wisdom . And also we can see that in the story, women on the story are very caring for the ones they love. Not only the women but also the family. Even thought sabina was hard headed girl who never listens to her family, the family still cares for her.And in the end of the story, was the committing of suicide.

In the story of "Sepang Loca", the couples who are not capable of  having a child have tradition (it is by dancing in front of the Patron Saint statue). The people believe in the belief that they can bear a child if they just trust the patron saint. And so Sepa did the ritual, that is dancing in front of the statue, then she bore a child. But after that she made a mistake. And that mistake caused the child to die. Some of the Filipino believe in such things that if they give ritual for the statue, their wishes can come true.

Let Us Be Mature!!
by: Lex Chavez

I get the urge of squeezing something fresh.
Wanting to taste everything in its flesh.
May it be smooth, rough, tidy or messed,
Ill satisfy myself to the best

These sweet soothing legs I'm able to touch,
I feel its sleek and softness so much.
For such sensation given for my lust,
All pleasure for desire I'll do and must

I'll savor this skin with kisses and buss.
Taste the sweetness and tenderness,no pass.
I love this passion I have in my heart.
I ended now but then I'll once again start.

I will now lick the most delicious part.
The wet and Juicy wings I tore apart
Made my sense of consciousness awaken
Because of the FRIED CHICKEN I've eaten.

Vesper's Goodbye
by: Nick Jonas

All of you
Shaped me into what I am
Carried out the better man
Do you have a master plan?

Somewhere I
Let all my defenses down
And never thought to turn around
And you do not make a sound

See it turning red
Like a bullet through the chest
Lay me down to rest
It's a lover's final breath

And I found out
Nothing comes without a cost
And life was just a game we lost
Do you have a better thought?

Now you're gone
And nothing's ever felt so wrong
A moment seems to last so long
Do you have a fear so strong?

And now I die
And kiss your tender lips goodbye
Pray to God he hears my cry
